Omia Agribusiness Development Group Ltd invites applications from qualified, experienced, and results-oriented candidates for the position of Tractor Operations Supervisor.
The Tractor Operations Supervisor will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day deployment and performance of the company's tractor fleet to ensure optimal utilization, achievement of acreage and revenue targets, effective client service, proper maintenance, and accountability for tractor operations.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Planning and coordinating the daily deployment of tractors and tractor operators based on confirmed client requirements.
- Monitoring the location, activity, and operational status of every tractor on a daily basis.
- Tracking acreage completed per tractor against planned and assigned acreage.
- Monitoring revenue generated by each tractor and ensuring tractor operations contribute to agreed commercial targets.
- Tracking tractor utilization, productive hours, idle time, and downtime, and taking action to improve fleet productivity.
- Coordinating client bookings and maintaining timely communication with clients before, during and after service delivery.
- Ensuring completed tractor services are properly documented to support timely invoicing and revenue tracking.
- Monitoring fuel issuance and consumption against acreage completed and/or operating hours and reporting unusual variances.
- Maintaining and monitoring preventive maintenance and service schedules for all tractors.
- Coordinating timely reporting of breakdowns, repairs, and maintenance requirements to minimize tractor downtime.
- Ensuring tractor operators conduct required daily checks and properly complete tractor logbooks and operational records.
- Supervising tractor operators and monitoring attendance, conduct, equipment handling, work quality and adherence to deployment schedules.
- Monitoring the condition and proper use of tractors, implements and other assigned machinery.
- Following up on client complaints and ensuring operational concerns are resolved promptly.
- Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly tractor performance reports covering acreage, revenue, utilization, fuel consumption, maintenance, downtime, and client service.
- Supporting the Agricultural Engineering Led to identify opportunities for increasing tractor utilization and growing mechanization services.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Agricultural Mechanization, Mechanical Engineering, Farm Management, Agribusiness, or another relevant discipline.
- Training in fleet management, machinery maintenance, operations management or related areas will be an added advantage.
Experience
Applicants should have:
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in tractor operations, agricultural mechanization, fleet operations, agricultural machinery management or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating or supervising tractor operators, drivers, machinery, or field operations.
- Practical understanding of tractor operations, basic maintenance, and preventive maintenance requirements.
- Experience monitoring operational performance, fuel consumption, acreage, or equipment utilization.
- Experience dealing with farmers or commercial clients will be an added advantage.
